There’s a childlike wonder to life that is too often lost upon us. There are a few things in life that can bring our inner child, and hidden parts of self, bubbling to the surface: love, exploration, dance, and art - to name a few. I’ve always been interested in the arts. When painting I try to access a part of myself that’s raw, pure, playful, free - things I want to be in “the real world.” When I am painting I can be as precise and calculated or as loose and liberated as I want, but I’m often this weird dichotomy of the two. With art, and in particular abstract art, anything is possible. I try to carry it with me even when I’m not painting. There’s a line that I like that I try to use as something of a mantra and code of conduct - “if you investigate enough, everything becomes abstract.” To approach life artfully is the goal from where I’m standing. I would have it no other way.
With love, Robby
